Carbon Farming

Carbon farming provides an opportunity for farmers,
landowners and land managers

Not all Carbon Project Developers are created equal.

APC is unique in its approach as an environmental markets project developer, by supporting projects where the land manager is the project proponent.

APC also makes investments into landscape scale management projects as a benefit of its carbon farming solutions activities.

Working with land managers; landowners, pastoralists, farmers, traditional owners, to build long-term relationships that will transcend the life cycle of the project.

There is no shortage of emitters looking for ACCU’s.   We consider farming/pastoral commerciality is inextricably linked to sustainable and regenerative land management practices. To achieve this, we work with land managers through independent NRM organisations to establish farm management and planning projects which take advantage of potential Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs). These carbon credits are an asset that provide additional income streams and environmental, social and economic co-benefits.

APC invests in the latest technology and innovation in carbon farming and connects these to landowner management and planning to create long-term value. APC seeks out innovators to create new carbon opportunities at scale to build on carbon farming initiatives.

Carbon farming offers an opportunity for farmers and other landowners to increase the amount of carbon stored in soil and vegetation (sequestration) or reduce emissions from livestock, soil or vegetation (avoidance).

Carbon farming presents an opportunity to complement many of the sustainable land management practices that are already underway to restore and protect the future prosperity of Australia.

APC assist farmers/pastoralists to leverage the full potential of Carbon farming through:

  • Co-developing property management plans
  • Exploring pathway for the sale of ACCU’s
  • Developing monitoring programs
  • Undertaking annual alignment of monitoring results
  • Exploring and trialling new ways to develop additional Carbon credit programs

APC works with land and sea managers to develop, monitor and deliver co-benefits to maximise returns.

Carbon Methods

  • Human Induced Regeneration (HIR) – Generating Carbon Credits from Vegetation
  • Beef Herd Method – Generating Carbon Credits from Cattle Management
  • Savanna Burning – Generating Carbon Credits from Culturally Informed Fire
  • Soil Carbon – Generating Carbon Credits from Soil Health

A shift to low carbon technologies and energy sources will allow primary industries to maintain competitive advantage in today’s dynamic global market and secure a low carbon future.

APC is a proud member of the Carbon Marketing Institute.
